The Library of Innerpeffray is off the beaten track in rural Perthshire, yet only minutes from the M9 motorway connecting Glasgow and Perth with Stirling and Dundee.

The Library is only 90 minutes from Glasgow or Edinburgh and makes an ideal day trip. Surrounded by the beautiful countryside of Strathearn at the edge of the Highlands, take a trip back in time to explore literary Scotland.

The site at Innerpeffray also includes St Mary's Chapel, with a fascinating graveyard, and Innerpeffray School, the local school until 1947. A view of ruinous Innerpeffray castle is a short walk nearby, and the Roman road from Braco to Perth along the Gask Ridge passes through Innerpeffray.

Coming soon: heritage walk beside the river open all year round.
